Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology (Sir MVIT), Bangalore was established in the year 1986 and is administered by Sri Krishnadevaraya Educational Trust (Sri KET). The institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) as well as the Government of Karnataka. The college received NAAC ‘B++’ Grade accreditation and its courses have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The college is permanently affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and its campus is spread across a massive 133 acres of land.

Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology (Sir MVIT) is a prestigious institute in the state of Karnataka that was formed in 1986 by the Sri Krishnadevaraya Educational Trust (Sri KET). The Institute is associated with Visvesvaraya Technological University and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education in New Delhi, as well as being certified by the National Board of Accreditation in New Delhi. Sir MVIT is a certified ISO 9001:2008 institution.

The institute has 2800 students & over 260 well-experienced faculty members, fully equipped labs (including project labs), seminar halls (For each department adequately equipped with multimedia facilities).With well qualified and motivated faculty, state-of-art laboratory facilities, well-equipped library and high speed Internet browsing center with connectivity and almost 100% placement, it is no wonder that the institute has been ranked No. 1 among the engineering colleges in the State by the reputed magazine `Dataquest’.

The All India Council for Technical Education has designated this college as a c- Nance training facility.
