Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheswara College of Ayurveda & Hospital started its journey in the field of Ayurvedic education from the year 1992. This college was started by Veerendra Heggade as a part of the SDM educational society. SDMC is approved by the Central Council of Indian Medicines and is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore.

The college has got situated at an equidistant point between Karnataka and Mangalore on a National Highway. BAMS admission in the college depends on the merit basis.

SDM College of Ayurveda has been one of the top Ayurveda colleges in India. This college is located in the capital city of Karnataka. It has even aimed at inculcating Practical as well as clinical knowledge to the students of the college in order to serve humanity. The college has separate hostels for girls and boys. The hostels provide all the basic facilities and are supervised by well-trained wardens.
