The institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) as well as the Government of Karnataka. The college received NAAC ‘A’ Grade accreditation and its courses have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). It is permanently affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and its campus is spread over 7 acres of land.

Srinivasa Education and Charitable Trust founded the Sapthagiri College of Engineering in Bengaluru in 2001 with a goal of molding their students into skilled, motivated, and responsible professionals. The institution boasts a top-notch education system supported by exceptional infrastructure, qualified faculty, and a pleasant atmosphere. They also have research centers to enhance the learning experience. The college has gained a prominent position among the leading engineering colleges affiliated with VTU.

Facilities: The college offers an extensive library with a diverse collection of books covering various subjects, which is accessible on all working days. The residential facility at the college is exceptional, with four hostels, two for boys and two for girls, as well as a guest house. Additionally, a gymnasium is available to students, allowing them to participate in fitness activities regularly at no cost. The college has outdoor courts for football and basketball, as well as cricket nets.
