K. S. Institute of Technology, was established in the year 1999 and is managed by The Kammavari Sangham. The institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) as well as the Government of Karnataka. The college received NAAC ‘B++’ Grade accreditation and its courses have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) as well as the Institution of Engineers India (IEI). It is permanently affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and its campus is spread over 3 acres of land.

K. S. Institute of Technology, or KSIT for short, was founded on October 11, 1999, by The Kammavari Sangham, as a result of a dedication to the cause of delivering value-based technical education. Its strength stems from its founding objectives, the prominence of its management, who are experienced men drawn from various fields, the gathering of dedicated, experienced, and well-qualified teaching staff, the establishment of a modern infrastructure with cutting-edge equipment and laboratory facilities, and the interactive relationship it has forged with the industry.

For convenience, separate hostels for boys and girls are provided within walking distance of the campus. There is a college bus service that takes guys from KSIT to the boys dormitories on the KSSEM campus. Because the ladies' hostel is directly across the street from Ksit, there will be college bus service for the females from KSSEM as well.
