The institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) as well as the Government of Karnataka. The college received NAAC ‘B++’ Grade accreditation and its courses have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) as well as the Institution of Engineers India (IEI). K. S. Institute of Technology, or KSIT for short, was founded on October 11, 1999, by The Kammavari Sangham, as a result of a dedication to the cause of delivering value-based technical education. For convenience, separate hostels for boys and girls are provided within walking distance of the campus. There is a college bus service that takes guys from KSIT to the boys dormitories on the KSSEM campus. Because the ladies' hostel is directly across the street from Ksit, there will be college bus service for the females from KSSEM as well.
