Dr. D. Y. Patil Prathishthan's D.Y. Patil College of Engineering was founded in 1984 in Pimpri and then relocated to Akurdi complex in 2001, close to the Pimpri Chinchwad Industrial Region, one of Asia's largest industrial belts.
