The institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) as well as the Government of Karnataka. The college received NAAC ‘A++’ Grade accreditation and its courses have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The college is permanently affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi and its campus is spread over a large 21.5 acres of land.

It was established in 2002 by the BMS Educational Trust and is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum.
