The Bhaarath institute was started in the year 1984, after that it acquired the deemed university status in 2003 by the UGC. BMCH is way different from other colleges in Chennai because of its topography, connectivity and persistent leadership in the field of medical training and healthcare for all. It provides teaching, patient care and, medical research.

This prestigious institute offers courses such as Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Bio-Chemistry, Pathology (including Blood Bank), Microbiology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine including Toxicology, Community Medicine, etc. Course duration for MBBS degree in BMCH is 4 years and 6 months and for B.Sc. degree, the durations is 4 years.
