Overview

Al-Ameen Dental College and Al-Ameen Dental College Hospital in Bijapur were established in 1991 by the Al-Ameen Charitable Fund Trust (ACFT), Bangalore, to meet the needs of the religious minority community, with forty students admitted. The college is affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) and recognised by the Dental Council of India. The Al-Ameen Dental College has a total campus area of 12 acres.

Al Ameen Dental College & Hospital is one of the top colleges in Karnataka. The admissions process begins in the months of May and June of each year. It is proposed that BDS be given an additional twenty seats. It is proud to have added more than twenty-five qualified MDS and twenty qualified BDS members to its teaching staff. The College Hospital has excellent infrastructure and all of the latest high-tech equipment. Recently, DCI approved the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department as a postgraduate department, with two MDS seats available each year.

The Al-Ameen Dental College and Hospital is part of the Al-Ameen Group of Institutions, which also includes colleges in Bangalore and Bijapur. Since its beginning, it has had an excellent track record with good academic results. The college has a one-of-a-kind infrastructure with all of the latest hi-tech equipment for students. The Al-Ameen Medical College, Vijayapur Scientific Research Committee has been formed to investigate issues concerning research activities. The campus has two hostels, one for men and one for women. Both hostels are available for the students of Al-Ameen Medical College and Al-Ameen Dental College. The hostel has its own mess and kitchen. They have a recreation hall, a prayer hall, a phone with STD and ISD service, and a visitor's room. Both hostels have 24-hour electricity and their own generators in the event of a power outage.

The Al-Ameen Medical College has its own water supply facility for students. All of the hostels have solar heaters that provide hot water around the clock. At Bibi Khatija Ladies Hostel, each room is provided with an attached bathroom and toilet. The college has a peaceful cafeteria, a sports area, campus transportation, an auditorium equipped with slide and multimedia projectors, banking facilities for students, a post office, both boys' and girls' hostels have indoor telephone booth facilities that are open day and night, and a multi gym facility with all modern equipment, such as an electromagnetic treadmill.

The college is located in Bijapur, which is 560 km from Bangalore and 554.9 km from Mangalore. The campus is three kilometres from the city. The college is well connected to bus stations, railroad stations, and airports. Bijapur has its own railway station and is connected with most of the cities in Karnataka. The nearest airports to Bijapur are Belgaum Airport and Hubli Airport.
