The institution has been designated as an Institute of Eminence by the Government of India, and it is the number one private university in India for innovation, according to the ARIIA. About VIT

Vellore Institute of Technology was started in 1984 as a self-financing college called the Vellore Engineering College under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956. Vellore Engineering College was granted university status by the Union Ministry of Human Resources Development in 2001. VIT was founded with the goal of offering high-quality higher education that meets worldwide standards. 2. MBA students can also apply for scholarships at VIT Vellore. Students with a valid CAT, XAT, or GMAT score of 95 percentile or higher are eligible for a complete tuition cost waiver.

3. Students who are admitted to VIT Vellore from rural government schools and have a household income of INR 1.5 LPA will receive a 100% price waiver for academic and residential facilities, as well as basic medical expenditures.
