About KIIT
KIIT was founded in 1992 as a vocational training centre with only two employees and 12 pupils. However, it did not become an institution until 1997, when the degree engineering programme began. KIIT exists because of the vision of its founder, Prof. Achyuta Samanta, who set out with no land, little money (only Rs. 5000/-), and little knowledge of higher education to establish an institution for the sake of society. KIIT has grown from humble beginnings to become a prominent institution with a strong interdisciplinary culture and a dedication to teaching quality.
KIIT was one of the first institutions in Odisha to accept international students into its various academic programmes. KIIT has students from over 65 countries, including the majority of South Asian nations, demonstrating its reputation as a high-quality, cross-border institution of professional education. The university's goal is to establish an advanced centre of professional learning of international standing, where the pursuit of knowledge and quality will reign supreme, unhindered by nationality, language, cultural pluralism, or religion.
