Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal was established in the year 1957 and is managed by Manipal Group of Institutions. About MIT Manipal
The Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal was established in 1957 as one of the first self-financing engineering colleges in the country.
It joined the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), presently known simply as Manipal Academy of Higher Education, as a constituent institute in the year 2000. Engineering streams are available as bachelor's and master's degree programmes at MIT. Moreover, it allows students the choice between full- and part-time research. For postgraduate-qualified PhD candidates, the minimal time commitment is three years full-time and four years part-time. A one-year relaxation is available to candidates having an MPhil degree.
The institution runs funded research projects with the help of financial organizations including the Ministry of Environmental Sciences, CSIR, AICTE, and DST. With renowned research institutes and laboratories both domestically and internationally, MIT Manipal conducts joint collaborative research initiatives.
B.Tech is the flagship programme of Manipal Institute of Technology, and admissions to the same are made on the basis of scores in the Manipal Entrance Test (MET), followed by counseling. MIT Manipal provides UG and PG courses, namely B.Tech, M.Tech, and M.C.A.

Infrastructure and Campus Life: The college is furnished with all modern conveniences, including a canteen, a library, auditoriums, dormitories, sports facilities, and medical facilities. Boys and females have their own hostels. There are more than 1,20,000 volumes, periodicals, and magazines in MI's main library. The library also offers electronic materials, digital libraries, and an online catalogue system. MIT features state-of-the-art labs for all engineering specialties.
