Siddaganga Institute of Technology (SIT) Tumkur, was established in the year 1963 and is managed by Sree Siddaganga Math. The institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) as well as the Government of Karnataka. The college received NAAC ‘A’ Grade accreditation and its courses have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). It is permanently affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and its campus is spread over 50 acres of land.

Siddaganga Institute of Technology (SIT) Tumkur was founded in 1963 with the goal of developing young minds in a learning environment with a high academic atmosphere while maintaining spiritual and technical values in mind. The college's mission is to develop young minds in a learning environment of high academic ambience by combining spiritual values and technological competence, with the goal of continually striving for the total development of students by educating them in cutting-edge technologies and assisting them in imbibing professional ethics and societal commitment, so that they emerge as competent professionals to meet global challenges.

1) The Sri Sripathi K.A. Memorial Scholarship

·   The student must have obtained admission solely through CET placement.

·   Students must be in high academic status and participate in extracurricular activities.

·   The student family's annual income cannot exceed INR 3.00 lakh.

·   A student's immediate family member may not be a government employee or a member of any government organisation.

·   The student must maintain excellent discipline with the administration/faculty and S.I.T. employees.

·   The Pre-University Examination marks will be used to determine selection criteria for first semester students.

2) Dr. M.N. Channabasappa Endowment Fund Loan Scholarship:

·   SIT has 14 undergraduate programmes and 9 postgraduate programmes. More than 4000 students are now enrolled at the institute. Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi has designated 15 departments of the university as Research Centres. In these centres, 187 research scientists are pursuing Ph.D. degrees.

·   The institute is well-known for its technical education quality and excellent institutional values. The NBA, New Delhi, has certified the majority of the undergraduate programmes for the fourth cycle. The NAAC certified the institute with an A rating.

·   For the fifth time in a row (2016 - 2020), the institute is continuously placed among the top 100 engineering institutes in the country in the Engineering Category in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), MHRD, Govt. of India.

·   In 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2019, SIT was ranked first in the Gold Category in the AICTE-CII survey of Industry Connected Technical Institutions. ISO 9001:2015 certification has been obtained by the institute.

·   At the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements, the Institute was ranked in the 'B' band among private institutions (ARIIA).

·   The Department of IT, BT & ST, Government of Karnataka has chosen S.I.T. as one of nine engineering schools throughout the state to build a New Age Incubation Centre in Information & Communication Technology.
