About RIT
Ramaiah Institute of Technology (RIT), formerly known as MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT) was founded in 1962 by Late Dr. M S Ramaiah, a famous visionary, philanthropist, and pioneer in the development of various major infrastructure projects in India. Dr. M S Ramaiah envisioned RIT as an institute of excellence providing excellent and inexpensive education in response to the scarcity of bright engineering professionals essential to construct a modern India. RIT has expanded throughout the years with major contributions from numerous experts in various positions, skillfully headed by Dr. M S Ramaiah himself, whose personal devotion has guided the institution through its formative years as part of Gokula Education Foundation. Today, RIT is one of India's most prestigious brands in engineering education, having graduated over 35,000 engineers who occupy responsible positions at leading firms across the globe.
RIT participated in and successfully completed Phase I of TEQIP, Technical Education Quality Improvement program, an initiative of the Government of India with funding from World Bank. Ramaiah Institute of Technology was ranked top among all VTU engineering colleges. According to the NIRF rankings for 2022, RIT Bangalore is placed 64th in the overall category of top engineering colleges.
