The School of Engineering at Garden City University takes inspiration from the former President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, and is named in his honor as Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam School of Engineering. Dr. Joseph V.G, the Chancellor of the university, had the privilege of meeting President Kalamji and apprising him about the activities of the Garden City Group of Institutions. Impressed with the efforts of Dr. Joseph, Dr. Kalam encouraged him to start an engineering institution, and thus, the School of Engineering was founded.
With over three decades of experience in the field of education, Garden City University has taken a nation-building initiative by creating world-class engineers, with a primary focus on the Department of Computer Science, which is in high demand.
