Bangalore Institute of Dental Sciences (BIDS) was established in the year 1991, by Vignan Educational Foundation, under the management and dynamic leadership of Mr. K Subba Rao, Chairman, VEF, since then the Institution has grown leaps and bounds.
The institute is approved by Dental Council of India (DCI) and recognized by the Government of Karnataka. The college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS). The campus is sprawled over 4 acres of land. The college has an annual intake of 60 seats for BDS admissions.

About BIDS
Bangalore Institute of Dental Sciences (BIDS) is one of the top dental colleges in Karnataka. The college was established in the year 1991 and the first batch of students passed out of the institute on 8th of November 1995 which happens to be the red letter day when the premier Dental Council of India gave recognition to the college. The students seeking admission for BDS course must score a minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as their compulsory subjects. The students must also give the NEET-UG examination to be eligible for the BDS admission process.
The college started its first batch of Post graduate courses in the year 2002 initially with following six specialties:-
· Oral Medicine and Radiology
· Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
· Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics
· Periodontia
· Prosthodontia
· Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics
And then in the academic year 2013-14, Post graduation in 3 more specialties were started-
· Oral pathology and Microbiology.
· Public health dentistry.
· Paedodontics and Preventive Dentistry
