University Of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun was established in the year 2003 by the Uttarakhand State Legislature under the UPES Act, 2003. The institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) as well as the Government of Uttarakhand. The college received NAAC ‘A’ Grade accreditation and many of its courses have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). UPES is a member of the International Association of Universities (IAU). UPES is also a part of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).  The university campus sprawls over a large area of 44 acres.

About UPES

UPES was created in 2003 by the Uttarakhand State Legislature under the UPES Act, 2003. UPES emerged as an innovative institution with an ambitious vision and a distinct approach, offering industry-focused specialised undergraduate and postgraduate courses, some of which cater to high-growth areas such as cloud computing, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, aerospace engineering, mechatronics engineering, fine arts, big data analytics, public administration, machine design engineering, computer science, petroleum, graphic and gaming, and so on.

UPES boasts a vast 44-acre campus in Dehradun's lush and beautiful surroundings. Scholarships

Scholarships subject to the central and state government as well as college rules. Deserving students can apply for academic, athletics, alumni, and other scholarships at UPES Dehradun. Scholarships are available for all courses:

1.    UPES B.Tech Scholarships are offered on the basis of merit as well as based on JEE Main scores. If a student scores;

·   >95.01% in JEE Main, they are given 100% Tuition Fee Waiver.

·   90.01-95% in JEE Main, they are given 85% tuition Fee Waiver.

·   85-90% in JEE Main, they are given 75% Tuition Fee Waiver.

2.    GATE scores are used to provide scholarships to UPES M.Tech students. Applicants who achieve a GATE score of 70% will be awarded a monthly scholarship of INR 12,400. To keep the scholarship, candidates must maintain a minimum CGPA/SGPA of 8.0 per semester. M.Tech students are also eligible for a scholarship of up to INR 50,000, subject to the University's rules and regulations.

3.    The UPES MBA Scholarship is awarded based on CAT scores.

·   >95.01% in CAT, they are given 100% Tuition Fee Waiver.

·   90.01-95% in CAT, they are given 85% tuition Fee Waiver.

·   85-90% in CAT, they are given 75% Tuition Fee Waiver
