Lovely Professional University, was established in the year 2005 and is managed by the Lovely International Trust. The institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) as well as the Government of Punjab. The university has received accreditations for its programmes from bodies like ICAR, PCI, BCI, COA and many more. It is also a member of Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. The university was formed under Lovely Professional University Act, 2005 and its campus is spread over 600 acres of land.

About LPU

Lovely Professional University (LPU) is a Private University situated on the outskirts of Jalandhar, Punjab. It was founded in 2005 by the Lovely International Trust, under the Punjab State Private University Act. With over 30,000 students and over 4000 faculty and staff, it is India's biggest single-campus university, providing 300+ programmes throughout its 20 Schools. LPU has been recognized by various bodies, including the University Grants Commission (UGC), the Council of Architecture (COA), and the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). It has also been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an 'A+' grade.

The university has a diverse student community, with students from more than 50 countries studying on its campus. LPU also has tie-ups with several international universities, allowing for student exchange programmes, joint research projects, and other collaborative activities. In addition to academics, LPU places emphasis on sports and cultural activities, and has a range of facilities for these, including a sports complex, an indoor stadium, and an open-air theatre.
